Je Sung Lee is an artist and designer who defines himself as an 'inbetweener' dealing with the social landscape.
He focuses on reconstructing the complexity of our society by trespassing the borders.
He believes the clue which derived from his practice will help people to understand each other moreover, make sympathy. 
Currently, He is working on the project 'Missing Women Survived Men' which deals with the Sex-Selective Abortions that largely prevailed in South Korea 1990s.
이지성은 '현대사회의 구조적인 모순 : 경계와 장벽'을 변형하고 넘나드는 것을 목표로 다양한 프로젝트를 기획, 제작하고 있다. 
스스로를 사이에 존재하는 사람으로 칭하는 나는 디자인을 통해 사회 부조리의 정교함을 드러내는 동시에 그것을 대하는 우리의 태도에 대해 질문하고자 한다. 
이는 내가 속한 사회상을 디자인과 예술의 형식으로 소명하는 것이고 이를 통해 우리가 겪고 있는 저항을 이해하고 더 나은 곳으로 나아가게 해주는 지표가 되어주기 때문이다. 
사람이 사람을 이해하고 받아들이는 것이야말로 궁극적인 예술의 가치라고 믿는 나는 현재 90년대 한국 사회에서 횡행했던 성감별 낙태를 고찰하는 작업 ‘사라진 여자들, 살아진 남자들’을 진행하고 있다.
